Care reminders
- Pneumonia is an infection deep in the lungs, caused by viruses or bacteria, that often follows a cold. Most children get better at home, but fast or hard breathing needs a doctor quickly.
- Rest, small frequent drinks and every prescribed dose help recovery; avoid cough suppressants and smoke.
- Fever that lasts more than a few days on antibiotics, or returns, needs a call to the doctor.
