Enter the birth date and the dates of doses already given; the next dose and earliest date are worked out for each vaccine.
This calculator builds a vaccine catch-up plan for healthy children and adolescents. Clinicians enter the birth date and the dates of doses already given, and the tool shows the next dose and earliest date for each routine childhood vaccine.
It covers hepatitis B, rotavirus, DTaP/Tdap/Td, Hib, pneumococcal conjugate, polio, MMR, varicella, hepatitis A, MenACWY and HPV, for ages 4 months to 18 years. Each vaccine is checked against minimum ages and intervals from the CDC catch-up table. Examples include not starting rotavirus after 14 weeks 6 days and giving no doses after 8 months; not counting MMR or varicella doses given before 12 months; Hib and PCV not routinely needed at 5 years or older; and a 2-dose HPV series if started before age 15, 3 doses if started later.
The result marks each vaccine as complete, due now or due from a set date, and can be copied as a summary. It reminds users to give all due vaccines at one visit, that a series never needs restarting, and that high-risk conditions change some needs. It is based on CDC Table 2 of the catch-up immunization schedule (addendum updated July 2, 2025), with the AAP recommended schedule also cited.
No. The tool notes that a series never needs restarting; you continue from the doses already given. All vaccines that are due can be given at the same visit.
Rotavirus should not be started after 14 weeks 6 days of age, and no doses are given after 8 months 0 days. The series is 3 doses, or 2 if all doses are Rotarix.
If the first dose is given before age 15, a 2-dose series is used, with dose 2 given 6–12 months after dose 1 (minimum 5 months). If started at 15 or older, 3 doses are needed.
